## What to do when a storm hits your roof.
Storms roll through South Central Indiana every year, and hail or wind damage isn't always easy to see from the ground. If a storm just came through, here's what we recommend.
**01**Right away
### Stay safe and stop the leak
Stay off the roof. If water is coming in, move valuables out of the way and call or text us. We offer emergency tarping and leak mitigation to protect your home until permanent repairs can be made.
Fallen tree? One customer texted Jason after a tree came down on her shed. He recommended a tree service and had someone out to patch the roof the same day.
**02**No cost
### Get a free inspection
We'll get up on the roof, mark hail hits and wind damage, and take photos so you can see exactly what we found. If there's no real damage, we'll tell you that too.
**03**Insurance
### File your claim
If there's damage worth claiming, contact your insurance company to open a claim. We'll share our photos and findings and work with your adjuster through the process.
**04**The fix
### Repair or replace
Once the claim is approved, we schedule the work, install your new roof or make the repairs, and clean up when we're done.

What we look for
## Hail damage is easy to miss from the ground.
Hail knocks granules loose and bruises shingles, which can shorten the life of a roof even when it isn't leaking yet. During an inspection we mark each hit so you and your adjuster can see it.

Are storm damage inspections really free?
Yes. We'll inspect your roof for storm damage at no cost and show you what we find, even if it turns out you don't need a claim.
Should I call my insurance company or a roofer first?
Either is fine, but a free inspection first tells you whether there is damage worth claiming before you file.
What does insurance usually cover?
It depends on your policy and deductible. Many policies cover hail and wind damage to the roof, and sometimes siding and gutters too. Your adjuster decides what's covered. We'll make sure the damage is well documented.
My roof is leaking right now. What should I do?
